PoleStar HP4 Controller and Motor Drivers

The ExtraTech^® PoleStar HP4 is Ethernet enabled, with integrated I/O, and high-capability stepper motor drives. ExtraTech has optimized their high-end uCito-based controller with 4 motor drives and a modest amount of I/O's to make this system fit into an incredibly efficient package. The enclosure size is 31x19x11cm (12 x 7.25 x 4.25in).
 
 
 
 The PolestarHP4 provides the following features. . .

• Software
  • Coordinated motion
  • Linear, circular, & smooth curve interpolation
  • Linear and S-curve accelerations

• 4 Motor Drives
  • Each is software configurable from 1.0 to 8.0 Amps
  • 16-64 level microstepping  (up to 12,800 steps per rev on 1.8 degree motor)
  • Main Bus OverVoltage & UnderVoltage Protection
  • Individual Over temperature protection on each drive
  • Phase-to-Phase & Phase-to-Ground Short Circuit protection
  • Each drive can be software linked to any of the 4 axis of motion
  • Directly runs NEMA 17, 23 or 34 frame motors
  • Diagnositic hardware/software for testing the machines wiring and motors
  • Internal cooling supports full functionality up to 120F external ambient temperature
    
    
• Two connectors for external drives. Step/dir/enable outputs, fault in.

• Integrate power supplies
  • Only requires external 56VAC or 80VDC
    
    
• Communications and operator interface
  • Ethernet TCP/IP
  • EIA-232 host port

• 2 PWM outputs which will run 24V solenoids or relays directly

  • Up to 8 user or travel-limit inputs
